UW/R: Bahass Foundation Celebrate 2024 World Mental Health Day

The Bahass Foundation, a leading non-governmental organization that provides mental health interventions in Wa, Upper West Region, commemorated World Mental Health Day this year with the localized theme “Mental Health for All”. On the morning of October 10, 2024, the charity held a float through Wa’s main streets to raise awareness about mental health as a community obligation. Several groups attended the celebration, including people with disabilities, youth volunteers, soccer stars, media, and activists.

The organization later holds a celebration on the grounds of the Bahass organization Mental Home and Rehabilitation Center in Wa. The Foundation now houses 24 convicts, comprising 6 girls and 18 males. This is necessary because people with terminal illnesses have become targets for accused ritual murders in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.

The Foundation is passionately appealing to the public to help its efforts to complete its permanent mental home and rehabilitation center, which is now under construction. Meanwhile, there has been an urgent plea for assistance in feeding and providing necessary caring to people with terminal illnesses who are currently hospitalized to the temporary mental home and rehabilitation center.
